When people frustrate you

I pulled out in front of somebody the other day. The other driver was, shall we say, less than Christian in his reaction. He seemed to want to be really close to me. His pickup truck filled my rearview mirror for the next mile until he had cooled down and we eventually went our separate directions.

Did I intentionally try to make his day difficult by pulling out in front of him? No. It was a mistake. I thought I had enough room (to my defense, I think I really did have enough room), but apparently, Jasper (may not be his real name) made his displeasure known very plainly.

I would love to tell you I’ve never been a Jasper. I would love to say I’m a saint the minute I get behind the wheel. Alas, I can’t. I have made my share of less-than-Christian reactions. But I’m getting better, does that count?

Jesus transcends our idea of good human interaction. We think it’s based on conditions. If the other person asks right, does right, reacts right, they are okay in our book. This conditional love and acceptance is met with a staggering reframe through the person of Jesus Christ.

In this clip from an interview, Sean Lord shares insight into this Jesus-reframe. Basically, if we act with love, we can never go wrong.
